This code of conduct contains the Association's expectations of the conduct of members at any time or in any place including, but not limited to:

events such as social occasions, rallies and rides; when travelling to or from those events; whilst wearing the Club apparel; and at all other times when you are representing the

Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc.

whether by self–appointment or officially.

 

• The Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. exists to provide a relaxed, safe environment so members can enjoy driving their vehicles and the company of like-minded people. The Executive Board and members who lead activities volunteer their time and energies, and do their best to contribute positively to the club.  It may be that some aspect of a club event causes you concern.

 

• If you have a concern that relates to something that may cause immediate harm, please promptly advise a board member discretely and in a mature and orderly fashion.  The board can then address the situation straight away

 

• If something does not meet your expectations on the day, and is not related to something that presents an immediate risk, please forward an email to the board expressing your thoughts so it can be addressed at the next board meeting.  The board will not consider matters unrelated to safety during club activities.

• When participating in the Club’s activities members are reminded that they are representing the Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc.  Behaviour deemed to be unacceptable by either the venue management or the Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. board may result in action taken against the club as a whole or individuals. 

 

• The Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. recognises that many members choose to participate in online communities of shared interest and create, share, or consume content.  We respect the rights of our members to use blogs and other social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc) not only as a form of self-expression, but also sometimes to conduct other activities. It is important that all members are aware of the implications of engaging in forms of social media and online conversations that reference Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. or individual members.  There is a big difference between speaking “on behalf” of the Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. and speaking “about” Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc.  Once information is posted online, it is essentially part of a permanent record, even if you “remove/delete” it later or attempt to make it anonymous.  Modern technology means that there is always a risk that your posts can reappear to be traced at any time.  

 

The following principles refer to those personal or unofficial online activities where you might refer to

• Have fun but be smart.

• Approach the online world in the same way as we do the physical one – by using sound judgment and common sense, and by ensuring you do not compromise members' privacy and confidentiality or make defamatory statements.

• Remember to never disclose non-public information about Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. or its members.

• Act in alignment with our objects.

 

• Be mindful of your language and its appropriateness for the audience you have at the time.   

 

• Abuse, insults, and personal attacks directed at other people are unacceptable.  There is no grey area in what a personal attack is - it is when a negative statement is directed towards another person.  If you disagree with someone on a point, do not resort to personal attacks.  The matter needs to be raised respectfully and privately, and with a view to resolution.

 

• We are all responsible for everything we do and say.  Anything we say publicly or post online that can potentially tarnish the reputation of the Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. or its members will ultimately be our responsibility.  If in doubt, do not.
