About the Event

ISUZU 4WD CLUB WILDFLOWER RUN AUG/SEP 2021

At this stage there is a trip in the planning to go and have a look at the wildflowers around the Perenjori area. The plan is to meet up Sunday 29Aug in the afternoon (15-1600 would be nice) in the Perenjori Caravan Park (camping fee applicable). We then have a couple of days exploring around and trying to locate any wildflowers that may be hiding. Depending on the weather and other stuff we may end up away for a few more days in the bush East of Perenjori in the Karara Rangelands.

The trip will commence Sun afternoon 29Aug at Perenjori and be back home Sat arvo 06Sept (day before Fathers Day)… these dates are subject to change for many reasons which include weather, Covid rules and just about anything else you can think/dream of. You are also free to depart at any time you wish/need.

The trip involves a run along sealed and maintaineddirt roads with some excursions onto unmaintained X Pastoral Station tracks and tracks through the Karara Rangelands.

You would be wise to have everything you need for the duration as there will be limited opportunity to purchase any food, water etc.

You will need a fuel range of at least 800kms. Fuel available at Wubin, Perenjori, Morawa and Paynes Find.

Recovery equipment suitable for sandy/mud tracktravel to be carried. Puncture repair kit to be carried. There should be 1 x UHF handset available for each person in the vehicle as there will be the opportunity to go walking during this trip and in this type of country it is easy to get misplaced.

Food…I will have a BBQ plate for…BBQs. We will have at least a couple of nights in the same place(Perenjori CP) during this trip.

Clothing…whatever you want but try and be fashionable.

Weather…expect warm, cool, cold, freezing, cloudy, sunny, windy, calm, dry and wet…if it rains then all bets are off and we will likely be exiting by the quickest route.

Timings…the aim will be to have camp set up and enjoying a beer (or whatever) at least 90mins before sunset. That’s the aim anyway. There will be a couple of days where some reasonable distances mayneed to be travelled and a couple of nights in the same place. Solars, nuclear fusion, angels tears, unicorn farts or whatever you need to keep your batteries topped up will be required.

There will also be the opportunity for walking and exploring so please make sure you have decent shoes (boots are better) and appropriate clothing.

There’s a better than even chance that the nights will be freezing so make sure you have nice warm and cosy sleeping stuff.

If you wish to have a powered site at Perenjori you will need to book at the Caravan Park prior to arrival…make the booking for 2 nights (Sunday and Monday) and we’ll see if another is needed while we are there.

Please SMS if you think you need further info.
